Online Events Coming Up
in support of UNCONQUERABLE SUN
This newsletter will have three parts.
Part one: A listing of online events in support of Unconquerable Sun. Links provided where they exist. On launch day 7/7 I will send another newsletter which will, I hope, have updated links. Otherwise, sadly, you will have to google.
Part two: A quick run down of my current audiobook situation, including news of Prince of Dogs.
Part three: The obligatory Finn photo. What will it be???
ONLINE EVENTS
In the face of the pandemic which has disrupted so much of people’s lives, I’m grateful and delighted that Tor Books has put together these online events. I’m going to be talking with some of my absolutely favorite writers, who have either July releases or recent releases this year.
All events are free, even if ticketed, and I hope you will join us, ask questions, and see Finn.
TUESDAY JUNE 30 Tor After Dark
7 pm ET / 4 pm PT / 1 pm HT / 9 am Sydney / 7 am Manila / midnight London
Tor After Dark on Instagram Live : I’ll read two short excerpts from UnSun and answer questions, assuming I can figure out how to make IG Live work. Wish me luck, or come and watch to see how it goes. Finn will be there. He’ll probably bark.
This will be @TorBooks on Instagram (not on my IG)
TUESDAY JULY 7 LAUNCH DAY with Mysterious Galaxy & N.K. Jemisin

FRIDAY AUGUST 14 with Powells Books & Kit Rocha

In Conversation with Kit Rocha’s deviously clever twin heads. Their new series starter DEAL WITH THE DEVIL is near future post-collapse sf adventure, coming July 28. I’m hoping to convince the Kits that we will, in part, talk about the joys and challenges of writing ensemble casts.
A Virtual Event with Powells Books (Portland OR).

AUDIOBOOK NEWS:
Prince of Dogs (Crown of Stars 2) has been recorded at Tantor Audio by voice actor Shiromi Arserio (who did King’s Dragon). It will be released in the early fall (no confirmed date yet). The Burning Stone will be recorded about that time for a release at the end of the year or so.
I really didn’t think any of Crown of Stars would ever come out in audio so this is triply exciting for me. If the first three books sell enough to justify it, the other four will be recorded as well, so please feel free to let people know they are available.
Which brings me to the issue of non USA audiobook availability.
In the USA/Canada market these books are currently available in audiobook:
Unconquerable Sun (Macmillan Audio) (forthcoming 7/7/2020, voice actor Natalie Naudus)
King’s Dragon (Crown of Stars 1)(Tantor Audio) (voice actor Shiromi Arserio)
Court of Fives, Poisoned Blade, Buried Heart (Court of Fives trilogy)(Hachette Audio)(voice actor Georgia Dolenz)
Black Wolves (Recorded Books)(voice actor Richard Ferrone)
Cold Magic, Cold Fire, Cold Steel (Spiritwalker Trilogy) (Recorded Books)(voice actor Charlotte Parry)
In the UK only the Court of Fives Trilogy (Hachette Audio) is available in audiobook.
My agent is curently looking into UK and world distribution issues for the others. I will let my international peeps know as soon as I know.
For today, a sweet photo of Finn and a buddy hanging out at camp (“camp” is what I call his doggie day care where he goes twice a week for dog time).
As always, thank you for reading. I could not do this without you.
