April Showers Bring A USA Release, an In Person Event, and other options for signed books, audiobooks, and more
plus bonus book, song, tv show rec!
Here we go. At last . . . almost . . .
Already available in the UK/Commonwealth region from Head of Zeus, FURIOUS HEAVEN finally publishes on April 18 in USA/Canada from Tor Books in all formats: hardcover, ebook, and audiobook.
You can of course still preorder.
I’ll post again on release day.But for now, some alerts:

In Person Event with Fonda Lee at Powells/Cedar Hills Crossing (Beaverton, not downtown Portland) on April 11, at 7 pm.
The date coincides with the release of Fonda’s novella UNTETHERED SKY (which is great). I’ve been assured there will (almost certainly) be early copies of FURIOUS HEAVEN available. I hope so! Please come if you are in the area and can make it. Fonda and I will talk books and then sign.
For those who cannot make it, SIGNED BOOKS will be available for mail order!
Here is the link for Furious Heaven.

Where can I get signed books? you might ask.
From Powells (see above)
From Da Shop, which currently has signed copies of The Keeper’s Six and Unconquerable Sun. If you want a personalized, signed copy of Furious Heaven (or Servant Mage, or a personalized version of the other two), email them and order it via them; they ship to all USA domestic addresses although not, alas, internationally, They are my local indie, and I can/will drive down and sign copies as needed. Support your local indie bookstore!
From The Signed Page (The Keeper’s Six and maybe Servant Mage) link

Audiobooks continues to offer multiple sales. I believe they aren’t affiliated with Amazon so if you are looking for places to buy audiobooks that aren’t Amazon/Audible’s storefront, Audiobooks is one option. Libro is another.
Here are links to the multiple sale offers.
Crown of Stars audiobooks with the excellent Shiromi Arserio narrating:
King’s Dragon (until 4/30).
Prince of Dogs (until 4/28).
The Burning Stone (until 4/28).
Plus a preorder link for In The Ruins! (good until 4/17)
The entire Spiritwalker Trilogy (international edition, which may be region locked to outside the USA, but I’m not sure), narrated by Charlotte Parry.
Cold Magic (until 4/28)
Cold Fire (until 4/28)
Cold Steel (until 4/28)

Preorders for the audiobook of THE KEEPER’S SIX (bundled with Servant Mage as a twofer) are available at Podium Audio.
Podium is a small audiobook publisher in a marketplace dominated by Amazon/Audible, and I’m delighted they’ve picked up my two scrappy little novellas.

I’ll be newslettering again on April 18, a week during which I have 3 book releases! FURIOUS HEAVEN’s USA/Canada release, of course, plus the audiobook releases of IN THE RUINS and THE KEEPER’S SIX (+ SERVANT MAGE).

More news to come but for the moment I will end this deluge of publicity/marketing related information. Thank you for your patience.

A reminder, since I suppose that by marketing standards I don’t mention it enough: I have a Patreon. It features posts on craft, musings my current writing, an occasional longer essay, and currently I’m coming to the end of a long serialization of what there is written so far of Dead Empire (Black Wolves 2). Some of the craft/essay posts are public; everything else is for patrons. I’d be honored if you signed up.

In the interest of shaking things up a bit, I’m going to mention one book, one song, and/or one show/film/or game I’ve enjoyed and that I recommend.
Today:
THE JINN-BOT OF SHANTIPORT by Samit Basu, coming in October 2023 (alas, so far away). It is utterly delightful sf, smart, funny, and just so entertaining. Pre-order! You won’t be sorry.
J-Hope’s single ON THE STREET featuring (his idol) J.Cole is a great little piece of chill hip hop with excellent work by both. J-Hope (and all of BTS) were influenced by J. Cole, and this song is both a “see you later” to his fans as he enters army service in South Korea and a tribute to an artist who was so important to his own development as an artist (both street dancer and rapper). Also, J. Cole’s word craft (rhyme craft? flow craft?) is phenomenal with its sophisticated internal rhyme and rhythm as well as the message itself. I even felt there was a shout-out to the Book of Job.
Some times I go through a phase of attempting a number of new shows and bouncing off them all. That’s what happened this past week with a variety of crime, mystery, thriller, and dramatic shows that I tried out. I finally settled on a Polish crime thriller called THE DEFENSE (in English). The central character is a rather unlikeable, uncompromising, and ambitious (iow, I like her!) lawyer who is called in by an old friend to help her find her missing and presumed dead young daughter. Twists ensue. Mostly I’m just grateful that streaming services make such a worldwide variety of shows available to me now.

Finn at camp with friends. That look.

As always, thank you. I could not do this without you.
