A book-keeping post about my webpage
About as exciting as it sounds, but read it anyway, cute Finn photo!
The server that once hosted the katelliott.com website is now defunct (through nobody’s fault; just a change). I don’t have time or energy to build a new website, whether on wordpress or some other vehicle.
Therefore, for the time being, kateelliott.com redirects to imakeupworlds.com.
imakeupworlds.com has a decent wordpress footprint, so rather than try to build something new on kateelliott.com and transport over the archival material, I will let IMUW (for short) stand in as my official Kate Elliott website for the time being. In fact, probably for a while.
Later this year I will transfer over some of the information that was on the old site, but since the basics are on IMUW (like a bibliography), that’s not an urgent priority.
I have stories to write, and will get to the website as I can.
Should you have specific information or things you’d like IMUW/kateelliott.com to feature when I have the time to expand/rebuild it, you can let me know in the comments here OR in the comments for this post on IMUW.
The moral of this story is the old adage about the urgent/important axis.
In this case it is arguably “important” (versus not important) for an author to have a website online so people can find information about them, should they seek it.
But since I can redirect the ke site to the functioning (if imperfectly complete) IMUW site, it is not “urgent” that I spend time on building a whole new ke site right this instant, when I have 3 short stories to finish/write, a duology to revise in October/November, and a major novel project (badly overdue) to fully outline and write AS WELL. Not counting anything else I might be doing that is related to writing/publishing (and there is at least one such project underway, not yet announced).
Also, I quite like the photo taken from Stonehenge looking east into the early morning that is the header on IMUW.
Thank you for your patience. And, again, let me know if there is any specific information you think should/could be online.
Finn in a cuddlesome mood, but mostly, a very unusual ear position for this schnauzer. Love this portrait.
Thank you. As always, I could not do this without you.
